Audra Pearl (Frost) Lowe, 97, of Orleans, Indiana, passed away the morning of Friday, August 25th, 2023 in Bedford.
She was born in Gaps Creek, Kentucky on February 10th, 1926 to Lafe Cooper Frost and Winnie (Piercey) Frost.
Roscoe F. Lowe and she were married December 14th, 1946 and he preceded her in death on January 10th, 2018.
In addition to her husband, Roscoe, she was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jannie; sisters – Lee Massengale,
Avadot George; and brothers – Dillen Frost, Hamilton “Hodo” Frost and Rex Frost.
Audra grew up in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky, graduated from Clinton County High School and immediately after graduation went to Dayton, Ohio and got a job. She was always an extremely hard worker and very independent. She was a housewife, farmers wife, cook at The Gorge and was employed at Paoli Chair Company.
She was a member of Newton Stewart EUB and Wickliffe UM Church for many years and was active all her life in whatever church she attended. She served thru the years in many capacities including Sunday School teacher, VBS director, Youth Leader and
Adult Bible Study leader.
Audra was a very talented artist – painting in oils, quilting and crocheting. She loved her “Crochet Girls” who met every Monday. She always said, “We crochet a little, have coffee and cookies, and talk a lot!” Mary Johnson, Peggy Kaiser, Little Luke and Heather Ross were such a blessing to her.
Her flower gardens were thing of beauty. Even at 96, she would be out in the yard working on her plants. She had rose bushes she had nurtured that had been her grandmothers and were still thriving. She had so many varieties and colors – they were a labor of love for her and she loved “digging in the dirt”.
Audra is survived by:
