Franklin D. Roosevelt Sipes, age 90, of Paoli, Indiana entered into eternal rest on January 8th, 2023 at his residence.
He was born in Galion, Ohio on August 14th, 1932 to Arthur Royce and Lucille Hattie (Fisher) Sipes.
Frank married Marlene Brown on May 16th, 1987 and she survives.
He was preceded in death by his Parents; (4) Brothers – Royce Arthur, Gerald, David and Dick Sipes; and
(3) Sisters – Olivine Ponell, Geraldine Murnan, and Ramona Boles.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955 where he served on the USS Whiteside,
USS ADG-11 and USS ARD-21. Frank then proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1956 to 1968 where he was stationed in Sandhofen, Germany. He was a member of the Eleventh Armored Calvary Regiment as a
“Blackhorse Trooper” while serving in Vietnam where he earned several medals and accommodations including
the Purple Heart.
Frank retired from Eli Lilly where he was a Warehouse Specialist.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and family.

(2) Sons – Richard Sipes (Darlene) of Whiteland, Indiana
Robert Kenneth Calvin (Elizabeth) of Paoli, Indiana
(3) Daughters – Robin Annette Clark (Kevin) of Southport, Indiana
Valentina J. Hilgediek (Tom) of Jasper, Indiana
Jamie Lea Piccione (Tony) of Greenwood, Indiana
(1) Brother – William A. Sipes of Sullivan, Ohio
(2) Sisters – Mudge Marvel Tallman of Tennessee
Rosemond Lucille Schwartz of Bucyrus, Ohio
(8) Grandchildren (6) Great-Grandchildren
Cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
