James “Jim” Gordon Ragains, age 87, of French Lick, Indiana entered into eternal rest on February 18th, 2019 at Springs Valley Meadows in French Lick, Indiana.
He was born in Martin County, Indiana on February 26th, 1931 to Rollie and Creasy (Andrews) Ragains.
Jim married Marian Hall on September 3rd, 1955 and she survives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, (2) Brothers- Bobby Gene and Clarence Ragains, (2) Sisters- Delores Compton and Maxine Coomer.
Jim was a member of Crystal Community Church, the Phillips-Grigsby American Legion Post 149 in West Baden Springs, and French Lick Masonic Lodge F&AM #586.
He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War and had worked as a concrete mason spending more than 20 years at Lindsey’s Construction.
Jim enjoyed watching his sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in all their sporting activities. He was an avid IU and Colts fan but added Kentucky for his great-grandson Carter.
He loved spending time with his family and never met a stranger.

FUNERAL CEREMONY
The Funeral Ceremony will be conducted by Pastor Mike Stout at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 24th, 2019 at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home in French Lick, Indiana. Burial will follow in Crystal Community Cemetery in Crystal, Indiana.
VISITATION
Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23rd, 2019, with a Masonic Memorial Service to be held at 7:00 p.m., and again on Sunday from 12:00 (noon) until the time of service at the Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home in French Lick, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Crystal Community Cemetery, c/o Melvin Jones, 9097 N 900 E, Dubois, IN 47527.
