Jim Flick
August 21, 1965 — March 27, 2024
French Lick, Indiana
Jim Flick, 58, of French Lick, passed away March 27, 2024 surrounded by his family.
He was formerly of Martinsville IN, Humboldt, IA and Clear Lake, IA.
In early December, Jim was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. All he wanted was more good days to spend with his family.
Jim was born to Larry and Marilyn Flick August 21, 1965. Sister Terri Flick was his favorite prank phone call victim.
He later married Jennifer Dearlove March 31, 1995 making her the luckiest woman alive and they had two sons Austin and Collin (Madison) Flick. Jim would continue with his many successful business ventures, Flick’s Motor Cars, Northland Auto and Marine, Movement Solutions (the largest watersport rental company in Clear Lake IA), Ole Canoe Slider Co., and Lucky Wife Wine Slushies, leading him to his biggest achievement: Becoming the first man to create the Homemade Ice-Cream wine slushie. Some would say that Jim Flick gave the most interesting man in the world his first Dos Equis…. Others would say he was a renaissance man that could cook you a gourmet meal on his patent-pending Rotor Smoker to singing you a pitch perfect rendition of King of the Road at karaoke night.
Jim Flick lived life on his terms. Hobbies included ventures on the Mississippi River to finding the most authentic taco in the remote areas of Mexico.
To us, Jim was a husband, father, brother, son, author of “The Ramblings of an Uneducated Liberal Conservative”, and mentor to all that would listen. Jim Loved to work hard and play harder; leading a shining example for all of us to take chances and live life outside the guide rails.
Here’s to it, and from it, to do it again….
Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents Floyd and Mildred Flick, Gentry Coffey, Louise Coffey and Olive Coffey. In lieu of flowers the family would really appreciate if you sent your favorite stories and memories of Jim. The family will be holding a celebration of life on April 13, 2024, 2pm-6pm at their home 10444 W County Rd 450 S, French Lick IN. There will be a catered meal provided.
