John McCracken, 80, of West Baden Springs, Indiana entered into eternal rest on February 24th, 2023 at Springs Valley Meadows, French Lick, Indiana.
He was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on March 13th, 1942 to Murel Isom and Beryl (McCullough) McCracken.
John married Shannon Allstott on October 11th, 1969 and she survives.
He was preceded in death by his Parents; (1) Sister – Carole Rabinowitz; and (2) Brothers – Grover and James “Fuzzy” McCracken.
John attended West Baden Springs High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army where he served in Vietnam with the Red Eye Missile Division. He was a member of Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church and French Lick American Legion Post 76.
He had worked as Convention Manager for the French Lick Springs Hotel and retired as the hotel Assistant Manager.
Following a short retirement, he went back to work for the French Lick Resort where he enjoyed working on the golf courses.
John enjoyed long drives in the country and the outdoors – fishing, mushroom hunting and especially golf. Most of all he loved
his family
He is survived by:

Jeff Hobson of Paoli, Indiana
(3) Sisters – Sandra Eichelburger of Dubois, Indiana
Nancy Davisson of French Lick, Indiana
Mureleen Morris of Indianapolis, Indiana
(5) Grandchildren – Isaac, Chloe and Evan Brown and Elijah and Israel Vance.
FUNERAL MASS
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted by Father Randy Summers on Friday, March 10th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at
Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church, French Lick, Indiana.
VISITATION
Visitation for friends and family will be Friday, March 10th, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
Cremation was chosen.
