Kenneth (Kenny) Ray Murphy II, 76, of French Lick, Indiana passed away at his home on May 11th, 2023.
He was born on October 19th, 1946 in Greenville, Kentucky to Kenneth and Venoy (Kirtley) Murphy.
Kenny was preceded in death by his Parents and Infant Brother – Jan Wayne in 1953.
He was the Construction Superintendent for Fuhs Construction Company in Jasper, Indiana for over 30 years, retiring in December of 2020. Prior to that, Kenny had always been involved in the construction field (both residential and commercial) throughout his adult life. During his earlier years, he worked construction in several cities in Arizona (Phoenix, Tucson and Tombstone), along with building his own vacation home in Prescott, Arizona.
Kenny was very well liked with an easy-going personality. He could always make you laugh. Family and friends enjoyed being around him. He had a deep interest for anything history and spent years working on genealogy of his family tree and had a remarkable memory. He was a man of MANY interests and collections, always wanting to learn new things and learn the history behind current things. Kenny also enjoyed spending time at home with his 4 beloved Yorkies.
He is survived by:
Children – Barry Murphy and Shelley Murphy
Sister – Darla Land (Brad) of Evansville, Indiana
Nephew – Cody Land (Lan) of Jacksonville, Florida
Niece – Michelle Gilbert (Bradley) of Evansville, Indiana
Kenny also enjoyed spending time with great-nieces – Tinley, Avery and Eliza
FUNERAL CEREMONY
A Funeral Ceremony will be Wednesday, May 17th, 2023 at 12:00 noon (EST) at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home with burial to follow on Thursday, May 18th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. (CST) at Island Community Cemetery in Island, Kentucky.
VISITATION
Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, May 17th, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. (EST) until the time of service at the funeral home.
