Louis Rex Emmons, 80, of French Lick, Indiana entered into eternal rest on December 28th, 2022 at his residence in Jasper, Indiana.
He was born in Martin County, Indiana on January 14th, 1942 to Delbert Hiram and Mayme Ruth (Collins) Emmons.
Rex married Brenda Purkhiser on June 6th, 1964 and she preceded him in death on October 2nd, 2020.
He was also preceded in death by his Parents; (1) Daughter – Marcy Dyann Emmons; (2) Brothers –
Clifford and Clarence Emmons
Rex proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1966, where he served aboard
USS Forrestal Aircraft Carrier during the Vietnam War and at the Naval Air Station in Norfolk, Virginia.
He retired from NSWC Crane after 27 years as an inspector.
He was member of Moores Ridge Church where he had been a trustee and song leader; The Church at Powell Valley, where he was a superintendent and youth leader; Lions Club; and West Baden American Legion Post 149.
Rex enjoyed going to church, eating out, watching ballgames on TV and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by:
(2) Sons – Douglas Rex Emmons (Nancy) of Dalton, Georgia
James Nathan Emmons of Jasper, Indiana
(1) Sister – Mary Henry of Shoals, Indiana
(3) Grandchildren – Ian McKittrick Emmons, Alexis Marcy Emmons, and Anistyn Tyanna Emmons
(1) Great Grandchild – Eden Elizabeth Emmons

FUNERAL CEREMONY
A Funeral Ceremony will be conducted by Rev. Rodney Shelton on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.
at the Moores Ridge Church Celebration Center with burial to follow at Ames Chapel Cemetery.
VISITATION
Visitation for family and friends will be Monday, January 2nd, 2023 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Moores Ridge Church c/o Building Fund, 3109 S. County Road 500W, French Lick, IN 47432
