Marjorie Ann Shields 10-31-1923 â 11-20-2012
Marjorie Ann Shields, 89 of Indianapolis passed away November 20, 2012 at Rosewalk at Lutherwoods.
She was born October 31, 1923 in Indianapolis, the daughter of Rose Marie (Stich) and Ernest Clyde Campbell.
She attended Pleasant Run and Township House Elementary Schools, Warren Central Junior High and graduated from Warren Central High School. She was a school secretary at
Springs Valley Elementary Schools, French Lick, In. Warren Central high Schools, and retired from Lowell Elementary of Warren Township. She was a member of Franklin Road Baptist Church, Indianapolis, In.
Marjorie married Alden Keith Shields on February 7, 1942 in Indianapolis.
She was preceded in death by Alden, her parents, her brother Carl Edward Campbell, sons-in-law Stuart Wetterholt , Arlis Stanfield and daughter-in-law Vicki-Hunter Shields.
She is survived by( 2) sons:, James Edward (Fran) Shields, Bloomington, In ., Robin Clyde Shields, Mooresville, In. (2) daughters: Sherrie Ann Wetterholt, Bloomington, In. , Kathy Ann Stanfield, Indianapolis, In. (7) grandchildren: Angie Macy, Tami Silverman, Kirstin Maxwell, Olivia Stanfield, Leah Stanfield, ,, Nicholas Hunter-Shields and Adele Hunter Shields (9 ) great- grandchilden: Emily Macy, Ethan Macy, Mia Silverman, Max Silverman, Isabell Maxwell, Alyssa Stafford, Caleb Porras, Zoe Porras, Kaylin Porras
While living in French Lick she was active in Eastern Star, Tri Kappa Kappa, Together class at Methodist church and various youth activities. She with Alden enjoyed camping, traveling, scouting, many cookouts and hayrides adopting the idea of the more the merrier. She enjoyed making the family house a home and decorated for all the holidays.
Her activities continued when moving back to Indy. She was a member of a homemakers club, bowling team and the Swinging Singles Square Dance Club.
The last few years she appreciated the friendliness and helpfulness of her caregivers and fellow residents.
A celebration of life will begin at 1:00 P.M.on Saturday January 12, 2013 with family and friends visiting one hour before in the chapel of Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home, 9640 W. State Road 56, French Lick, Indiana .
