Menerva Ellen Hopper

Menerva Ellen Hopper, age 85, of French Lick, Indiana, entered into eternal rest on May 30th, 2021 at Springs Valley Meadows, French Lick, Indiana.

She was born at Bicknell, Indiana on September 15th, 1935 to Arthur and Mary Lou (Marvel) Riggle.

Ellen married Charles E. “Eddie” Hopper on January 11th, 1951 and he preceded her in death in 1993.

She was also preceded in death by her Parents; (1) Son – Charles Eugene Hopper; (1) Sister- Velma Riggle; and (2) Half Sisters – Snowful Payne and Genieve Erwin.

Ellen was baptized at Bethel Church near Orangeville and had worked for REMC and Medco Nursing Home.

She was a self-taught landscape painter, enjoyed camping, gardening and spending time with family.
 
Ellen is survived by:

(2) Sons Billie Joe Hopper (Bea) Dubois, Indiana
Floyd E. (Pete) Hopper (Dora) West Baden Springs, Indiana

(2) Daughters Sharon D. Wininger Paoli, Indiana
Bonnie E. Kellams West Baden Springs, Indiana

(10) Grandchildren (19) Great-Grandchildren (10) Great-Great Grandchildren

FUNERAL CEREMONY
A Funeral Ceremony will be conducted by Pastor John Moffatt on Friday, June 4th, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home with burial to follow in Ames Chapel Cemetery.

VISITATION
Visitation for friends will be Friday, June 4th, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Ames Chapel Cemetery Fund, c/o Ryan Barwe, 6487 W. County Road 175 S., French Lick, IN 47432.
