Sarah Janette Stone age 88, of French Lick, Indiana went on to be with the Lord Sunday, October 13th, 2019 at St. Charles Health Campus, Jasper, Indiana.
She was born on August 23rd, 1931 in West Baden Springs, Indiana to Claude J. and Helen Autumn (Henson) Bird.
Janette married Vernon Eugene Stone on September 23rd, 1950 in the Parson’s home (Holiness Preacher) Rev. Denis Barber in French Lick, and he preceded her in death on January 6th, 2003.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; (4) Sisters – Theda Cleveland, Jessie Goldman, June Curry and a sister in infancy; (4) Brothers - Joey Bird, Doug Bird and twins Marvin and Melvin in infancy; and (1) Grand-daughter – Sarah Beth Cocanour Dalton.
Janette was a homemaker, full time babysitter, then went on to work at The Villager in West Baden Springs until their closing after which she worked at the French Lick Resort until the age of 83.
She was a member of People’s Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in French Lick where she sang gospel music with her husband, daughter Darla and family.
Janette enjoyed painting, word search puzzles, reading, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by:

(1) Brother James Logan Bird (Billie) Hillham, Indiana
(1) Sister Annie Gougan Colorado
(1) Sister-in-Law Kay Ann Stone Indianapolis, Indiana
(9) Grandchildren (16) Great-Grandchildren (1) Great-Great-Grandchild
And many Nieces and Nephews also survive.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
The Funeral Ceremony will be conducted by Rev. Randy Simmons on Friday, October 18th, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home in French Lick, Indiana. Burial will follow at Ames Chapel Cemetery, Paoli, Indiana.
VISITATION
Friends may call Thursday, October 17th, 2019 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home and on Friday, October 18th, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
