SFC (Retired) Chester A. “Mac” McDonald, Jr., 73, of West Baden Springs, Indiana, entered into eternal rest on June 28th, 2018, at Springs Valley Meadows, French Lick, Indiana.
He was born in Galveston, Texas on June 6th, 1945 to Chester and Frances E. “Burns” McDonald.
Chester married Mary Allstott on February 24th, 1968 and she survives.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, (1) Son – Chester A. McDonald III, (1) Brother -Gordon McDonald, (1) Sister -Patricia Moore.
Chester was a member of Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church, the American Legion Post 76, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 673, Disabled American Veteran, LRRP Airborne Ranger Association Company G-75th Rangers, and a 75th Ranger Regiment Association. He was also the Past Master and Secretary of the Masonic Lodge #586 in French Lick.
He was a VUJC Life Member Alumni and also a Northwood Alumni where he acquired his Bachelor’s Degree.
Chester earned a Silver Star and three Bronze Stars in the United States Army while completing two and a half tours in Vietnam.
He retired at the rank of Sergeant First Class from the United States Army after 20 years of faithful service and also retired from Crane NSWC.

FUNERAL MASS
A Funeral Mass will be conducted by Father Benjamin Syberg at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 2nd, 2018 at Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church in French Lick, Indiana. Burial will follow at the Moores Ridge Cemetery.
VISITATION
Visitation will be Sunday, July 1st, 2018 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Brosmer-Kemple Chapel. There will be a Masonic Memorial Service held on Sunday, July 1st at 5:30 p.m.
