Shelby Jean Steele

Shelby Jean Steele, 82, of French Lick, Indiana entered into eternal rest on December 25th, 2021 at her residence.

She was born in London, Kentucky on February 21st, 1939 to John Smith and Lena Joyce (Tharp) Montgomery.

Shelby married Joe Steele on February 25th, 1961 and he preceded her in death on March 8th, 2004.

She was also preceded in death by her Parents; (2) Brothers - Wayne and Kenny Montgomery; and
(1) Sister –Virginia Cox.

Shelby was a past member of Homemakers Club and the Red Hat Society and had worked at the Jay C Store.

She enjoyed making porcelain dolls, painting, doing puzzles, gardening, sewing and knitting.

Shelby is survived by:

(3) Sons Joe E. Steele (Linda) French Lick, Indiana
James Edmond Steele (Darla) Eckerty, Indiana
Craig Steele (Erica) French Lick, Indiana

(2) Daughters Beverly Beaver French Lick, Indiana
Tammy Brown French Lick, Indiana


(3) Brothers David Montgomery (Debbie) Willisburg, Kentucky
Johnny Montgomery (Linda) Willisburg, Kentucky
Danny Montgomery (Judy) Willisburg, Kentucky


(2) Sisters Helen Johnson Springville, Kentucky
Caroline England Willisburg, Kentucky

Several Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren also survive.


FUNERAL CEREMONY
A Funeral Ceremony will be conducted by Pastor Randy Stevens on Tuesday, December 28th, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home with burial to follow at South Liberty Cemetery.

VISITATION
Visitation for friends will be Monday, December 27th, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, December 28th, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.

Due to the Coronavirus, guests are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing. If you are experiencing any symptoms of illness, please do not attend.
